Privacy Policy — Space Coast Rocket Tracker (SCRT)

Last updated: July 15, 2026

The short version

SCRT does not collect your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is reported to anyone, including us.

What the app stores

Everything the app remembers is stored only on your device:

None of this is transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

Network requests the app makes

The app contacts exactly two services, and neither receives anything about you:

  1. Launch Library 2 (ll.thespacedevs.com), operated by The Space Devs, to download the public schedule of upcoming launches. This is the same public data for everyone; the request contains no information about you or your device beyond what any web request necessarily includes (such as your IP address, which The Space Devs receive as the operator of that service).
  2. Apple Weather (WeatherKit), to fetch conditions at the launch pad. The coordinates sent are the launch pad’s — a fixed, public location — not yours.

Tapping a link in the app (a livestream, a data-source credit, the App Store) opens it in your browser or the App Store as normal.

Location

If you use the Sky Finder compass, or the Premium “Will I See It?” visibility forecast, the app asks for location access while you’re using that feature. Your location is used entirely on your device — to calculate which direction the launch pad is from you, and to estimate your distance to it. It is never transmitted, never stored, and never shared. You can decline, and every other feature keeps working.

Maps

The “Watch” tab shows a map of public viewing spots using Apple’s MapKit, which loads map imagery directly from Apple the way Apple Maps itself does — that traffic goes to Apple, not to us, and is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy. Tapping “Directions” opens the location in the Apple Maps app.

Calendar

Tapping “Add to Calendar” asks for write-only access (iOS 17+): the app can create the one event you asked for, but it is never granted permission to read your existing calendar. Nothing about your calendar is sent anywhere.

Siri, Shortcuts, and Spotlight

Asking Siri (or Shortcuts, or Spotlight) for the next launch is answered from the same on-device schedule cache described above — no network request is made to answer it, and nothing about the request leaves your device.

Sharing

The “share” button on a launch renders an image locally and hands it to iOS’s standard share sheet. Nothing is sent by the app itself — where it goes is entirely up to which option you choose in that sheet, the same as sharing a photo from Photos.

Notifications

Launch reminders and delay/scrub alerts are scheduled locally by your iPhone. There is no push server, and no notification content leaves your device.

Subscriptions

If you subscribe, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple provides the app only with whether a valid subscription exists. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Children

SCRT does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be reflected here with an updated date.
